"They came from nowhere." The man explained as his body shivered, his hands shaking towards the Glass Sea.

"They . . .?" Without warning, he sprinted towards the blackness of the night. Flailing hands is all you can see; screaming and sobs filled the cold air.

"Sally! Will! Please don't take them! Take me instead! You monsters, take me instead!"

The Belly at the Glass Sea, is a product that is specifically, but not only, for GMs that uses the system Candela Obscura by Darrington Press. This is a Trifold, a One-Page Assignment that can be printed (or not) which contains:

  • Adversaries, and some example goals to guide the GM on how they would act.
  • Threats, that a Circle of Investigators (Players) might encounter during this Assignment.
  • NPCs, for GMs to use in order to guide or oppose the Investigators.
  • Locations, where a plot thread might be found, an interesting encounter might occur, or deathor maybe even something worse.
  • Gears, that the GM might give in order to help the Investigators in this Assignment.

This is my take on a Low-Prep session; where this is the only thing you, the GM, would need at your table (or tablet). So that the Players and of course you, the GM, can focus on the Assignment at hand.

Good luck to you, Lightkeeper. And may your Investigators survive another Assignment in the future.

This is a great resource to quickly prepare a darker themed game for Candela Oscura, or with very minor work, any other system. In my mind I can see the creatures moving over the docks, half hidden in the misty night.
